Freecampsites.net is dedicated to becoming the primary source for information on free campgrounds and boondocking locations in the United States and Canada. We believe that free camping sites are often the most beautiful and peaceful sites. There are many free camp sites for backpackers, but rv camping sites can be more difficult to locate. The developers are currently enjoying the fulltime RV lifestyle and are actively searching out free rv camping areas while traveling.
We hope that this site will help others who are on the road and looking for free camping. The site is community driven and while we will be adding many free camping sites, we hope that the users who find the site useful will add some of their favorite free rv camping sites as well.
The main focus of the site will be public lands. We especially like camping in Forest Service land, BLM (Bureau of Land Management) areas, WMA's (Wildlife Management Areas) and county or city parks. Hopefully, our users enjoy the same style of camping and if everyone contributes a few free camping sites, we'll all have much more to choose from.
We are not actively seeking Wal-Marts, truckstops and other parking lots and will not be adding very many of these; there are enough Wal-Mart and truck stop directories out there already. However, if a user finds one of these locations to be useful and submits a retail parking lot, we may approve the post as a member of the community has taken the time to create the entry.
