Aeroplaine campground is a great location for hikers and horseback riders to access the Wilderness.

Directions
Left hand turn off 142 by Snow Lake on 142A. Travel East 4 miles to the Campground.
Maps are currently being developed for the campsite.

General Notes
Fire wood is available around the campground.

Closest Stores:
A pay phone is located at the turn off of to the Negrito Firebase, approximately 15 miles from the Campground. Reserve, the closest town offer all common ammenities.

Tent Camping Notes
The ground in the campground is mainly flat. The area can get very muddy after rain.

Area Activities

ATV
No ATV allowed in the campsite.

Hiking
The campground is the trailhead to 705, leading into the Gila Wilderness.

Horse Riding
There are 4 corrals across the road from the campground with ample area for trailor parking.

Hunting
Hunting is not allowed in the campsite. The campground is located in hunting unit 16A with access to hunting unit 16B.

Scenic Drives
The 141 road is paved approximately 18 miles, the remainder to Aeroplane is graveled.

Wildlife Watching
This particular drive offers great opportunity to view elk and deer. Mostly early morning and later afternoon are the prime viewing hours.
