Free camping on Lake Aldrich in the Tahuya State Forest.
There are 5 sites that RV suitable. There are additional walk in tent only sites. 3 of the sites are pull-thru. However, they are small and tight. Each site has Picnic tables, metal fire rings w/grill tops. There are three outhouses. No Garbage Service – Pack It Out
The lake is gorgeous and crystal clear. FWS stocked this lake with 650 rainbow trout at the end of April. While I didn’t have any luck from the shore, fishing is supposed to be excellent here I suspect my luck would have been better in a boat.
There weren’t any other people there when we arrived on Tuesday. On Wednesday another truck camper showed up. They left Friday. By 6pm Friday, all of the campsites were full. This place was very active and noisy over the weekend. Most of the campsites cleared out on Sunday night.
Directions:
Take NE Dewatto Road to milepost 2.2
Turn on Hahobas Way
(Towards Camp Hahobas and Robbins Lake)
Aldrich Lake is about a mile near Camp Hahobas
We stayed here 05/12/09 – 05/18/09. Sprint EVDO service was excellent.
