Take Hwy. 17 out of Soap Lake, WA about six miles to Blue Lake. Just past the first resort are 3 or 4 turnouts right on the lake. No power, or facilities, but a great place to spend a night or two. The hwy. is a little noisy, but not enough to keep me away.
It’s just a short drive to Grand Coulee Dam, and If you fish, Blue Lake has great trout.
Also, ask at one of the resorts about the petrified white Rhino in the cliff across the lake. You can walk to it, but its better if you have a boat.
There is also a state park (Sun Lakes) just up the road that has lots of spots and services available, but I prefer the free spots.
