Description:

Blueberry Patch Campground is a small, semi-primitive campground located along Picnic Area Road (County Route 2), next to the large blueberry patch it received its name from. This is a popular spot to gather berries when they are in season. The berry patch features the high bush as well as low bush blueberries. Sites are available on a first come-first served basis, with a $10 per site per night camping fee.

There are nine campsites available on a first come-first served basis, each with a fire pit, a place to park, and a picnic table, some of which are handicap accessible. This campground is best suited for tents or small campers. There are two handicap accessible vault toilets. Dumpster service is provided from May – October 31st. A campground host is usually provided at this recreation site. We rely on volunteers to staff this summer position.

Directions:
From the South, take State Route 17 (I-86 in some areas) to exit 52 (Watkins Glen exit/State Route 14 North). In Watkins Glen, turn right on State Route 414 North. At the Fourth St. intersection go approximately 9 miles north, past the Hector Ranger Station of the Finger Lakes National Forest on the right. Continue for ½ mile and turn onto County Route 2, which is the next asphalt road. Travel for 4.0 miles east. Blueberry Patch Campground is on the right.

From the North, take I-90 to exit 41 (414 south to Hector, NY) the second asphalt road on the left, ½ mile past Wickham’s Plaza is County Route 2, turn left and go 4.0 miles east. Blueberry Patch Campground is on the right.

This is a lovely area, but you will be hard-pressed to find parking for RVs of much size. Perfect for car-camping with tents. The national forest is criss-crossed with hiking trails with diverse scenery.
