The main thing different about this area is that the camping is truly off in the middle of nowhere. If you drive down one of the side roads a little ways, you can be half a mile or more away from the next camper. Some of the side roads are good enough so that big rigs can travel them, at least for a little ways. Not a good place if you enjoy socializing, but excellent if you want solitude and privacy. It’s getting a little more crowded than it used to be, word is getting out. Mostly open country, but with beautiful views of the mountains surrounding the area. (General Location: To the west and south of Bouse, AZ, off to the sides of Plomosa road. Plomosa Road runs between Bouse and the intersection with US 95, north of Quartzsite. Most sites are more towards Bouse, to the east side of Quinn pass. Also, some sites just west of Quinn pass, off to the south side. The “Plomosa 14-Day Area”, somewhat more regulated and usually considerably more crowded, is near the junction of US 95 and Plomosa Rd., at the west end of Plomosa Road.)
This is spot-on. I’ve parked in the Bouse BLM areas a number of times, and enjoyed it each time. I’m one of those “solitude and privacy” guys, so I tend to wander a bit further back on the dirt side roads, and so far I haven’t been disappointed. There’s at least one public dump station in Bouse (one of the RV parks on the main highway … can’t think of the name of it at the moment). There’s some ATV traffic, but for the most part you won’t have the things traipsing through your campsite all day long.
Bouse boondocking, great spot!. Senic, paved road right up to where you choose your perfect spot. Atv paradise,4×4 trails galore.Close to Quartzsite,Parker{WallyWorld}Lake Havasu City.
