Oh My gosh – why would I ever publish such a gem?!
Up on Towgotee Pass (9,200′) going into Jackson Hole & Yellowstone. South of US Highway 26, west of Dubois, Wyoming, & just west of the Brooks Lake Rd. on your way to Grand Teton & Yellowstone Nat’l. Parks. A fine, often hosted, Forest Svc campground for ten bucks a night ($5 with a Golden Eagle). Like takin’ candy from… No hook ups. Good sites for most rigs.
An easy pull off from the highway if your looking for a night or two. A great spot for a base exploring the wild Towgotee Pass area. The falls and camp area are beautiful in their own right, and the Brooks Lake, across the highway, area provides unparalleled beauty. The various Forest Svc roads off the main highway provide virtually unlimited boondocking for the pursuits! Wild, and wonderful – but BIG Grizzly bear country – probably more bears than anywhere in the lower 48, but don’t let that keep you away! You can get lost up here – forever – if you are of such a mind! If you fancy yourself a pure boondocker then find a spot in this HUGE area and hunker down! If you need help you’re gonna have to go get it!
