The campground has both 20 and 30 amp electrical outlets at over 60 sites and a dump station. The park has flush toilets, showers, and two wells for drinking water.

The park has three picnic and playground areas, three sand volleyball courts, three horseshoe pits and an amphitheater. Over four miles of trails wind through forests, fields, and along the river’s edge. In 1991, an Interpretive Trail was developed at the west end of the park.

The trail highlights the uplands, floodplains, and wetland areas of Cedar Bend Park and takes 30-45 minutes to complete. Canoeists and fishing enthusiasts can gain access to the Cedar River through Cedar Bend Park. A recycling shed is also available for campers.

  1. Jim O'Briant says:

Once again, contributor Pianotuna has his facts wrong. Cedar Bend Park in Waterloo, Iowa has no camping spaces. There are no campgrounds of any kind in any of Waterloo’s 52 city parks. This was confirmed on June 21, 2010 in an email to the City of Waterloo Leisure Services.

    • Brenda says:

Mr. O’Briant. I live in Waverly Iowa about 30 miles north of Waterloo and the reason your not finding it in waterloo is because it’s not in Waterloo it’s in Waverly and we camp there almost every weekend. It’s there in WAVERLY IOWA and all that is stated is true :)

    • JF says:

Actually, I live in Waverly, IA and have camped at Cedar Bend Park several times– in its camping spaces. Because it is in WAVERLY, IA, Waterloo Leisure Services in not a very good source to find information on this.
