Nice campground with roughly 20 sites in the trees and many more in the open. Most sites in the trees are right next to Clear Creek and the drive to Clear Creek Reservoir is about 5 minutes away. Right on the Colorado Trail. Warning: bring heavy duty mosquito repellant. Otherwise great site. Drive north on CO 24 out of Buena Vista and turn right atr about 10 miles at the gravel road next to Clear Creek Resevoir (sign for Vicksburg). Once past the lake look for left turn down dirt road. OK for all rigs.
Clear Creek Reservoir and surrounding camping provides great Colorado camping in the Arkansas River Valley, recreational options and serene views, whether you want to relax in your lawn chair all weekend or keep yourself so active you hardly sit down! Camping around the lake is available to tent campers and RVs.

Could you email me? i have some questions about this campsite(: Aaronhallman69@yahoo.com
Thank you
We were there last weekend for one night – just passing through – but we plan to go back and ride the Colorado Trail portion which goes right through the campground. Very pleasant – campsites are far enough apart to not be crowded. Restroom was available. Good fishing very nearby. No fires were allowed when we were there. No atv’s are allowed in the campground. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Is this a place where you need reservations? Or is it safe to just show up?
I camped at Clear Creek April 27 and 28, 2012. It is a great camp spot. The creek was right at my camper door. While I was there I visited Cottonwood Hot Springs for a warm soaking. There ia a good Brew-pub in Buena Vista.
I would encourage anyone who is interested in a great camp spot and is willing to give up having electric and running water to stay here for a few days. Bring your own toilet paper. The pit toilet had none. I would agree with most of the comments, bud did not find any problem with mosquitoes.
Clear Creek Lake is not visible from highway 24, but there is a clearly marked sign.
