This was a campground that was closed because the sewer would not meet code. Then the owner of the Crystal Gold Mine cleaned it up. As far as camping goes, there is water at every site but no electric or sewer hookup. There is a dump and and water to flush. I talked to the owner: length of stay was not mentioned as I stayed a week. Camping was free. They do tours of the gold mine which they charge for, and they would like you to take the tour but that is not a requirement. The tour was enjoyable, if that type of thing interests you, and the owners were very nice. It is located along the north side of I-90 At Kellogg, ID exit 51 going west. Go right at bottom of ramp to stop sign about 2 blocks, go right at stop about 2 miles on frontage road back east. It will be on your left. You will see signs and mining machinery. If you are going east, same exit, only left at bottom of ramp. Hope you enjoy it as much we did

This is an awesome place to camp and relax! It is free, however the new owners are planning on doing some upgrades so ‘free’ for how long, who knows? But for now, the people are very helpful, pleasant, accomodating and will do most anything to make your stay a nice one. There is plenty of shade, the grounds are clean, I just can’t say enough good about the place (there is some noise from the freeway, oh well)! Check it out it is definately worth the time. We will be back even when the updates are done and they will have to charge. Easy access and plenty of room – we are 40′ plus we tow a vehicle.
8/01/2-11, We have AT&T cell phone and Verizon aircard coverage but you need to move around in the park to find the best spot as a few feet can make a difference in coverage.
