Dipping Vat is located adjacent to the west side of Snow Lake. Snow Lake is approximately 52 miles southeast of Reserve, New Mexico. The campground offers a variety of activities to the visitor, including fishing, overnight camping, and hiking. Dipping Vat has a potable water system including a well with a pump. Snow Lake is stocked with trout three times a year, early Spring, early Summer, and late Fall.

52 miles SE of Reserve via FR141, SR28 and FR 142.
Maps are currently being developed for the campsite.

General Notes
The $5 fee for the campground is per vehicle, per night, per site. Please keep animals on a leash.

Closest Stores:
Reserve is the closest town with amenities. There are several gas station, convenience stores. The town offers motel and restaurant opportunities as well.

Tent Camping Notes
Campsites are mainly flat.

RV Camping Notes
Not recommended for RV’s over 19 feet.

ATV’s are not allowed within the campground.

Boating
Electric motor boats or man powered boats only.

Fishing
Trout stocked in the lake early Spring, early Summer, and late Fall. Contact the Game and Fish for more information on stocking.

Hunting
Hunting is not allowed in the campground. Dipping Vat is located in hunting unit 16A, with access to hunting unit 16B.

Wildlife Watching
En route to Dipping Vat provides and excellent opportunity to view elk, deer, bear, and turkey.
