Go south on 4th Street from Williams about 4 miles to Dogtown Road, and turn left. Camping is on both sides of the road and it’s free. 4th Street turns into Perkinsville Road when you leave Williams. Great for large groups: you could have 30 to 100 campers in your group and have plenty of room for everyone. Good roads to campsite and it’s level. If you need something, it’s only 4 miles to town. This is a Forest Service Road.

Cool site for dispersed camping. We camped there in mid-April on Forest Road 140D. The official fee area was closed at Dogtown Lake. Got snow April 12-14. The Benham Road campground, across the highway is free dispersed camping AND there is a vault toilet with a 14 day limit. If I’d have known that prior to arriving I might have camped there instead. It’s easier to get to, there’s better trails. And oh did I mention the vault toilet?
