Free BLM Boondocking. Dry camping AKA: no facilities! Lots of primitive camping areas in a maze of roads. Some campsites have stone campfire rings. While area is OK for big rigs, look before you leap. The further in you go, the higher the clearance required. Not the best place if there has been or it is forecast to rain.
Directions:
From Congress: At the intersection of SR-89 & SR-71, head N on SR-89 (2mi). Turn right (east) on Stanton Rd. Continue for 4.1miles. Turn left on a local dirt rd and find numerous primitive camping areas along rd.

This is the road to Stanton an old ghost town. It is worth seeing if you like turisty type ghost towns. I was here last year in 2009 and met an old timer who lives there and planted a [now huge tree] back in the early 1930′s. The town and area now belong to a Gold mining club. No gas station here. So get gas in Congress AZ before you come. Nice place to visit if you have a high axil vehicle. If you are adventurous instead of driving back the way you came, continue on this road to Yarnel. It is a little scary with sheer drop offs at times but it is a shortcut to Yarnel.
