Near Seward, Ak, Exit Glacier is the most accessible glacier in the state. From the park entrance, it is a short hike to the actual glacier. Camping area is actually in the Chugach national forest.

Along the road going into the park, there are several large asphalt pullouts suitable for overnighting. Additionally, there are 6-10 small wooded campsites right off the road suitable for a small rig. Much over 30′ would not be recommended.

The wooded areas are posted for a limited stay. If memory serves, it was about 6-8 days, but don’t hold me to it.

One Comment about “Exit Glacier Road”

  1. Karen says:

We stayed in our RV in one of the large turnouts-very scenic and quiet, along the river. The wooded turnouts are very small. Our 25′ would have fit into just a couple of them. They’re more suited for vans or tent camping.

The stay limit is eight days. Look for the small signs along the road marking the camping area. It’s just a few miles long.
