We have thousands of visitors each month, but very few are actually submitting sites. The majority of our listings have been submitted by a handful of loyal members. If you are a regular submitter and/or commenter, thank you! If not, we would love to know why not. We have set up a poll with some reasons that we think might be holding you back from participating in the site. If your answer was not provided or you would like to elaborate on your vote, please leave a us a comment.
In order for this site to be as complete and accurate as possible, we need your help. We submit campsites regularly, but our resources are not infinite. We actively travel around the US and Canada researching and exploring free camping areas, but we can only be in one place at a time.

Reviews and comments left on this page are not sent to the party that oversees the management of the campsite. They are displayed below the write up so that visitors to our website may utilize them. If you would like to make a reservation or find out specific information about the camping location, please use the contact information listed in the main review. We recommend that once you locate a suitable camping location on our website, you do additional research to confirm that it is still open, the correct location, and free or less than $11 prior to driving there. In most cases, we provide the current contact information in the entry for each campsite. We make every effort to be up to date and accurate, but with number of campsites we have to keep up with, there may be some discrepancies. Thank you again for your contributions. Please let us know if you encounter any items that need to updated.

Hi,
This url leads to 380 free spots in Ohio. http://www.aep.com/environment.....n/recland/
We’re mobile as of Mar 1 – look for more contributions from me!
I’ve tried for over an hour to submit a FREE Roadside camp spot in Kansas. Whose e-mail address do you want?? The location or mine so you can contact me. Whose phone #?? There is no URL it keeps asking for. Then it says the Geomashup or something is wrong!! What is that? It put the green teardrop on the map when I typed in the location. I also downloaded pictures and now all is lost!
Dianna,
Not all fields are required. If you are unable to find some information for a site, just fill in the required fields. For email address, we are looking for contact info for the site in question.
We require either a gps coordinate (you can either click on the map or type in coordinates) or an address. Either one will work fine.
I hope this helps.
My husband and I are planning a round-the-US trip this Fall and have compiled a list of some of your free campsites listed here – so I will do my best whilst on the trip to post reviews on the sites we do visit. So happy to have found your site : ) I didn't know it was here, and think it is so wonderful that you are putting together these lists.
I thought everything worked pretty smoothly and have no complaints on the interface of the site. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Jrd210. We created the site because we are RVers who perfer a scenic boondocking location over a full service campground. Especially the free ones!
We have seen quite a few of your submissions. Thank you! Everyone really appreciates it. One note, though. Our current threshold is $10. Any site that is submitted and is above that does not get displayed at this time. We do keep them in our database, so your work was not in vain. There will come a time when inflation is too great, our threshold will rise, and the posts will be visible.
Hitekhomeless–great job and I am trying to get as many sites for Rvers into BC as I can. Free or under $15 is my target, as even the parks here are now ridiculous. Boondocking is the way to go.
Hi Little Toot,
We are glad that you like the website. We have tried to make it easy to use and full of information. If you run across any campsites that you have visited, please feel free to rate them and leave a comment on their page.
Wow eight years, I bet you have a wealth of knowledge. Come November, we will celebrate four years of full time RV traveling.
While there is a ton of free camping on the east coast, you are right, it can be tough for larger rigs. Heck we had trouble driving to campsites due to old bridges that cannot support our weight. An untapped resource in the east is land owned by utility companies and Fish and Wildlife run Wildlife Management areas. Unfortunately, we left the east coast right after we started the website and haven't been able to document as many there as we would like to.
Thanks so much for visiting our website. I hope it comes in handy down the road. Please remember that we cannot check every campsite every day so there may be out dated info. It is in your best interest to contact the managing body for each location or to at least scout ahead.
Just found you today. Really like it. Trying to learn how to search etc. willl try to participate as we go along. Fulltimer 8 yrs but only retired from full time job, although we travelled with it. Travel in a 39' 5er with GMC dually. Not always easy in the east to find a free site.

Pianotuna beats me to them all the time, sometimes I think I am just a day behind him. He does a very good job & I will just try harder. It must be that SK spirit.
