We have removed the Canada tab from the main menu and placed it into the map menu.
We have added the ability to share the front page maps via email, Facebook and numerous other social mediums. You might have noticed some of these share boxes throughout the site already. You'll recognize it as the orange square with the white cross inside. This will not only allow you to share the main pages and individual campsites, but also allow you to send your friends a link to the beta map with the current results. Just click on the share icon when you want to share the page that you are on and pick a method.
Based on the feedback we received, the following changes were made to the beta map interface.
- More map sizes. You can no select small, medium or large. Once you do, your selection will be remembered and will be your default map size on future visits. You will always be able to change it later just by selecting a different size. We started with a small map because, as nomads, our bandwidth can be limited and we wanted the map to load as fast as possible. It's definitely better to have a choice than one size fits all. Thank you for your feedback.
- The popup info window that you get when you click on a campsite has been changed to reduce scrolling.
Please continue to tell us how you use the interface and how you would LIKE to use it. And really… let us know if something is broken; please include the browser you are using, the version number and your screen resolution if at all possible.

Hi J and J,
Will links I've posted to the Canadian part of the site still work? I've scattered them in RVnet, RVPark reviews and not a few listservs.
Comment–on the large map–some of the campgrounds "fall off" and are not visible.
It is looking good!

Pianotuna,
There should be no problems with existing links no longer working. We're trying to keep things as backwards compatible as we can.

Hi,
I think I may have found a "bug".
If I turn on unverified sites and an unverified pin is close (i.e. touching) to a "real" pin, then when you click on the unverified pin displays "null" in the "bubble" for the description. If I then zoom in, it displays the correct information, when I click on the "pin" again.
I discovered this by accident when trying to click on the Cottonwood unverified site in South Dakota. It is not consistant.
Here is how I "made" it happen a 2nd time.
Select medium map size.
Turn on unverified sites
Click on the town of Hot Springs, SD
Click on the yellow pin (which is Cotton Wood), and it displays "null"
On an entirely differnent note. How does one cancel street view?

Pianotuna,
It looks like you are actually clicking on the star icon which denotes the center point of the search. We can make this a bit clearer and give a little bit better feedback, but the real fix is to zoom in closer. There are some hacks that could be done to make this behave as if you had clicked on the unverified pin, but its really just the same behavior as if you had clicked any other marker by mistake.
I think the bug is just that it is unclear why you are getting 'null' in the popup. Will fix it for next rollout.
Regarding streetview, you should see a close box in the upper right hand corner.
EDIT: Changed this behavior outside of change control process. Any better?

Hi J & J,
It now says "search epicenter" and won't let me click on the pins. It allows me to click *if* I zoom in three times–but I think an average (lazy) user would be at a loss as to know what to do.
Perhaps if the "search epicenter" said:
"search epicenter, zoom in to be able to click pins closest to this location"
it might be better that just "search epicenter".
Clicking the x is not intuitive.

Regarding overlapping pins: I'm not really sure what the most user friendly fix is. Changing the wording in your specific example sounds good, but there is still the problem that ANY pins can overlap if the POI's are close enough together. I have one idea that might work, but it's not high on the list of priorities at this time.
Regarding the close box in street view: this is google's default controlset for streetview. I'm not sure what would be more intuitive, but I think the current controlset is probably the most 'well known'.
As always, thanks for your input. We hope to roll out a few more cleanups in the next few days.

Hi J & J,
I've always gotten out of street view by clicking the minus sign..that did not work which is why I was asking LOL!
I'm always glad to learn something new.
