I am not very familiar with Canada and would like some input. I have created the map and divided everything into provinces, just like I did with states in the USA. Cool?

In the "Site Type" area of the submission form, what type of places should be listed? In the USA I have things like Forestry Service, Nationa Park Service, BLM, etc. Any sugestions?

Thanks!

Hi Jenn,

We have National Parks, Provincial Parks, Regional Parks, City Parks and some that I probably have missed.

Part of the problem is that Provinces have more independance than states. For example Saskatchewan has regional parks–and British Columbia calls them something else.

What about a "type of park" field?

Hi Jenn,

I'd add such things as National Parks, Provincial Parks, Regional Parks, and City Parks. I'm sure there are others.

On the "features" there is no listing for grills–just for fire rings. There is also nothing for drinking water available (but not "at site") (we want our cake and eat it to ya know?)

All I can say is "thank you so much!"

Regards,

Don

"Forest Service" would be a nice addition, as western provinces have FS campsites.  Also, I updated 2 pictures for the BC Toquart Bay site, but they aren't on http://freecampsites.net/toquart-bay-bc-forest-service/ at all.  Finally, sometimes (not sure when/why) when I click on "Submit A Site", I get the US page (with a listing of states), even though I've been browsing Canadian sites.  Perhaps you need two separate "Submit A Site" pages, or else have a menu on this page that would control the state/province list.

Thanks for your feedback!

Added forest service to Canadian site types.

As for the file, I don't see that it was transmitted in the logs. You actaully need to click the upload now button (and I need to make that clearer). If you will email me the files, I will activate them. admin at freecampsites.net

I tracked it down, it was only happening on when you were viewing a site in Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba. I fixed it.

Hi Jenn,

We also have National Parks in Canada (Federally funded) so it may be a good idea to add that to the list of possible types.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks; I've mailed you the photos. Could you please change the Site Type field for Toquart Bay to Forest Service, now that this is available? Thanks.

There appears to be a bug generating the layout of each page; there is a broken image at the top-right corner of each entry. I've traced this to a missing filename; the page source contains:

Can't the "Upload Images" form be part of the overall campsite submission form, so that the user can submit all the information at once?

Thanks, …

Thanks. Love the view of the bay. Done.

I thought that I had already changed it, whoops. Done.

Fixed. Thanks. You were seeing it in IE, I assume. The site looks kinda crappy in IE atm.

That would require some database changes that I don't want to do at this time.

Thank you.
