Hi! Just wanted to correct your listing of this site as BLM. It’s actually located on private land,(owned by my family, who also owns the Coffee Shop & Food Mart)which is adjacent to the Patton museum parcel.
My mother had this little site graded several years ago for overnighters and we love to see people using it.
After all the rainfall this week, it will need to be graded again!
Sorry you guys ran into such bad weather- please contact me if you’d like any further info and feel free to stop & camp anytime.

planning to visit General Patton Museum on march 26 2011 with about 10 Boy Scouts (BSA Troop 89-Lake Arrowhead, CA)and 4-6 family members. Can we still camp there for free? Do I need to call and talk to you to confirm? All info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Cynthia Gavigan
The owners of the campsite do not frequent this website. The camping is free and on a first come first servered basis. Your best bet would be to contact them via one of the following methods.

do you have any suggestions for camping near the patton museum with toilets? were only planning to stay over 1 night with the Boy Scouts
There is a truck stop very close to the boondocking area, but I’m not sure how they or you would feel about sending boy scouts over all night long to use the facilities.
yeah, with the BSA two deep policy, two adults and two boys must make the trek to the bathroom together. Thank God for Gatorade bottles! Its been nice visiting with you. Thanks for your assistance. Ever been to Corn Springs?

I arrived after dark, and wound up staying overnight in the far end of the Museum parking lot. blog entry
Excellent site with large notice saying “drycamping” pointing behind the museum. Good cafe and generally a quiet night. Well reccommended
I have camped here with my motorcycle and tent a few times.
I have used the facilities in the Travel Center and never had any problems. Buy a soda or coffee and all is good.
The food at the diner is good, I like getting up and having breakfast there.
The only down side is the freeway noise, even though the camping area is a good distance it can still be heard.
It is people wise a very quiet area.
There is lots of room for tent camping and the museum is one of the best in the world about Patton.
If you miss it you have definitely missed something great!
