GOOGLE EARTH search: Granite Falls, WY
Granite Creek is one of the most beautiful valleys in Wyoming. From Jackson to the north or Pinedale to the south take US 189/191. You’ll be driving through the fantastic Hoback River Canyon. Granite Creek goes off to the north. The gravel road goes back six or seven miles, dividing into Little Granite & Granite Creeks. The road up little Granite was washed out last summer, but if open there is boondocking up there.. All along the Granite Creek Rd you’ll see dispersed campsites, culminating at a Forest Svc Campground (small fee), which is darn nice campground right along the creek. Just past the Campground is Granite Hot Springs – a human made pool using wonderful water from a hot spring – you’ll love it! All around this upper end of the Valley there are great hiking trails including on spectacular one called Swift Creek.
There is also a Safari Club International Educational ranch up there so that, plus the traffic to the hot springs, involves some traffic on the main road, but that’s by Wyoming standards. Not that it’s crowded, but there will be some cars going along the road. Perhaps the further down the road you camp the less traffic. Many of those sites are well off the road and right on one of the nicest creek you’ll find anywhere.
Granite Creek is one of our favorite boondocking places. Now, you are really a far piece from the actual Jackson Hole & Grand Teton Nat’l Park, but it sure is nice! Hiking, wildflowers, biking and scenery is all world class! Also good trout fishing in Granite Creek & the near by Hoback River.
Look closely on Google Earth and you’ll see the dispersed camping site along the creek.
Very limited services. Fuel in Bounduant.

We recommend that once you locate a suitable camping location on our website, you do additional research to confirm that it is still open, the correct location, and free or less than $11 prior to driving there. In most cases, we provide the current contact information in the entry for each campsite. We make every effort to be up to date and accurate, but with number of campsites we have to keep up with, there may be some discrepancies. Thank you again for your contributions.
