Hone Quarry Campground is located in Rockingham County, Virginia and is part of the Dry River Ranger District of the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests.

Access From Harrisonburg, Virginia:
Take U.S. 42 South from Harrisonburg for approximately three miles to the intersection with State Route (S.R.) 257 at Dayton. Turn right off U.S. 42 onto S.R. 257 (west) and proceed until you reach a stop sign. Turn left still on S.R. 257 to Briery Branch. In Briery Branch, turn right still on S.R. 257 and follow to the intersection of S.R. 257 and Forest Development Road (FDR) 62. Turn right onto FDR 62 and follow 1.7 miles to the Hone Quarry Campground.
Facilities Available and Season:
The campground contains a vault toilet building and 10 individual campsites. Each campsite has a fireplace grill, picnic table, parking spur, lantern holder and a tent pad. There is a $5 per night fee for camping and no reservations are accepted. The season is all year long, however, snow and ice may restrict winter use.
Drinking water is no longer available at Hone Quarry Campground.
Adjoining Facilities:
These include a picnic area with a shelter and fireplace, a vault toilet building, 10 grills and 15 picnic tables. Two hiking trails, Cliff and Heartbreak Trails, access the immediate area. Also adjoining the campground is a trailer dumping station. Hone Quarry stream, which flows adjacent to the campground, and Hone Quarry Lake, are stocked periodically with trout.

Wife and I camped there in October last year, great site, close to town and very private. Nice amenities and nice place to visit. We camped on the creek and just wish there was water to hear!
