The campground is owned by the city of Windom. Payment is by the honor system. It is located along the Des Moines River with good fishing. Camping facilities at Island Park provide electric hook-ups for 10 campers. The sites are available on a first-come first-served basis. The nightly charge for camping is only $8.00. A self registration box is available on the site. The park includes a lighted athletic field for all school football, baseball events and city baseball games, two lighted softball fields, lighted horseshoe courts, picnic area, large shelter-house with tables and free electricity for cooking, playground equipment, restrooms and an outdoor pool.
