I spent many a day and night here. Lots of wildlife. Gators, hogs, deer, snakes, etc. Mosquitoes! I don’t ever remember seeing anyone camping here. Now, I am talking about 10yrs ago. Things might be different now. Back then, I wouldn’t even dream of driving a rig on anything but North and South Grade (compacted dirt/gravel). Everything else required 4×4 (mud) or pre-runner techniques (sugar sand).

Camping is permitted only on designated campsites (pdf file). During archery season through general gun seasons camping is permitted 7 days a week and only on weekends throughout the rest of the year. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. During archery season, camping areas L and M and half of B are designated for short-term camping (no longer than 3 days).

I can’t follow the “link” to the website?I’m planning on being there mid May.

    • Hey there, Billyboy. Thanks for letting me know that the link was no longer working. I have updated it to a current one. It is http://myfwc.com/viewing/recre.....ecreation/. May would be a good time to visit if you aren’t planning on hunting. There are no hunts going on in May. That means that camping is only allowed on the weekends during that time. Camping is only allowed in designated spots. Here is a map of them: http://myfwc.com/media/305165/.....orbett.pdf Also, remember camping is first come, first served. So get there early.

Here is the regional office’s phone number in case you have additional questions: 561-625-5122

Have a great time out there. I used to. Please come back and tell us what you thought about it.
