This is the cleanest park we have ever been to. The fire rings are actually vacuumed out and each campsite is so clean you won’t find a cigarette butt or any garbage whatsoever. The sites are pretty level and the grass is kept neat. The picnic tables looked brand new. The campground is built within a State Archaeological Site and there is a visitor center that is pretty nice. There are public corrals for horses. There is an apple orchard where you can pick apples if you ask first. There are 2 different playgrounds. There is are 2 nature walk trails that are very nice. Kids can find fossils (snail shell fossils) in a dry creek bed. We were extremely impressed how neat and tidy this place was! There were about 10 other campers there and it was pretty quiet. Even for the first week of October everything was really green and pretty there. No water or electricity are available.

These sites now have water and electricity, and there is a dump station. There are public outhouses, spotlessly clean with absolutely no offensive odor. Camping is no longer free; but the fee is reasonable. It’s quiet at night, with no security lights to interfere with the incredible star-lit nights.
