A broad high desert valley, part of McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area. See . Three designated camping areas plus unlimited dispersed camping. The main area, just 0.5 miles from I-70 exit 2, can hold an unlimited number of very large RV’s. A very scenic hiking trail, with Colorado River overlooks, begins at Castle Rock, which is also a nice designated camping area, but not accessible to RV’s longer than 20′ or so.

That is an AWESOME area, highly recommended.
Nicely manicured, large sites with little fences around them. We are about 28′ long and we stayed in the first dispersed campsite on the road (a right) opposite of the “RV camping” road (a left). Admittedly, as a truck camper we have high clearance, but the road was well maintained. We didn’t go any further than the first dispersed site. Our site had a sign that said 7 day limit.
Great cellular connection! Full bars of Verizon 3G EVDO. Full bars of a vanilla Sprint cellular signal.
Hot! 100°F in late July (2011) and no shade. If we were staying for more than one night, we would have checked out the sites down by the river. They are about 3 miles in. Rabbit Valley is an OHV area but our campsite was set way off the main drag and we rarely heard them.
The closest dump station I know of is off I70 at the welcome center. You are not allow to dig cat holes at Rabbit Valley! You must either be in a self contained rig or you must bag it and carry it out!
This post needs pictures. Gonna upload some!
