there are also 3 tent camping sites. reservation line to call is: 281-353-4196. be persistant when calling – she doesn’t always answer or call back, but the camping site is worth the trouble!
Great find. This was truly a gem to find this park and is totally free! You can stay 7 nights which we did with full hook-ups at no charge. The park is locked at night and the park attendants are constantly patrolling the area and cleaning the already immaculate area. Very nice spot to be out of the hustle and bustle but only 30-40 minutes into downtown Houston if necessary. I would highly recommend this campground based on proximity to Houston, price and amenities. Nice showers and restrooms directly across from the campsites. Used by locals for morning and evening walks. We are traveling with a pet and found the 2 mile walk around the park ideal for running and walking. Small nature trails around the perimeter of the park but a nice touch. Definitely keep calling like Andrea said in her comments. Well worth it.
stay there often… its close to home and full hookups and dump.
i usually stop in for one nite to dump tanks before heading home.
i go there several times a year. its a gorgeous park lots of tall pine trees and very quiet… new ish shower toilet facility.
and totally free.
Nice park. I have had my son’s sleepover birthday party there a couple of years. Be warned though. Gates are locked @ 10PM and there is NO ONE around to unlock them if you need in/out. I guess you could call 911 for an emergency, but if you’re out eating dinner and forget about the time — woe is you!! Gates won’t be opened until the next morning. And you can’t just park your car and walk in — the fence goes all the way around the park!
