Located about 2 miles north of George the Quincy lakes are a group of 4 manmade irrigation lakes, Evergreen, Burke, Quincy and Stan Coffin lakes. Activities include fishing (Trout, Bass, Walleye, Perch), hiking, horseback riding, geocaching and more. Boat launches are available and lots of spots are available for dry camping. Pit toilets are located throughout the area. Can be noisy on summer weekends but very quiet during mid week.
Once free, now a "Discovery Pass" is required to recreate on public lands in Washington. The pass is $10/day or $30/year

I love this place. I had camped down the road at Martha Lake for the 72 hour limit then found this down the road. A Discovery pass is required and as far as I know this has the standard 7 day limit. Vault toilets on premises, reasonably clean (unlike Martha Lake).
Also, should you be interested, there's a rest stop in this area that has dumpsters and potable water by the water fountain. You'll also find other services in Quincy and George should you need to do laundry or shopping.
If you have a vehicle with decent clearance (I'm in Van), consider taking the road to the right just after you pass Burke Lake and where Evergreen begins. It's about a quarter mile after the Burke Lake parking lot. Amazing views. Boosted ATT seemed to work better than Verizon, although no problems with phone calls on Verizon.
We absolutely love Quincy Lakes! The first time we visited this area it was Easter weekend and despite what looked like 50 RVS, tent campers, and horse trailers there were plenty of spaces to park. A lot of the camp areas are near the lake, have soft grass, and are within walking distance to a vault toilet. There are also several hiking trails that take you down into a valley with several waterfalls to admire. If you have a boat there are plenty of spots to launch at the lakes and enjoy the water.
There isn't much to gather as far as firewood but there are some great fire rings at some of the camp areas.
We got four AT&T bars near the entrance to the park and got down to two or three further back. However, at three bars with my phone on top of the van I was still able to connect to my hotspot and get relatively fast internet.
There were a few downsides to the area. If it is hot and sunny you will get toasty. There is pretty much no shade at all. There were also tons of horses which meant horse poop on the road and constantly having to stop our dogs from barking at passing horses. Sound also carried pretty far from site to site and across the lake so we did hear the occasional drunken conversation from around some campfires. Overall we really enjoyed the spot and would highly recommend it if you're in Eastern Washington.
Stayed here in a 12 foot-long Passenger Vehicle. Adventroverts would stay here again.

Fairly level 15' feet from the water and 20 feet off of the well maintained gravel road. Lots of sites available in late Sept.

Nice quiet setting within a few feet of the lake. Vault toilets too. I was there at the end of September 2014 in a 32' Class C motorhome. No problems navigating the area.
Stayed here in a 32 foot-long Class C (RV). Steve would stay here again.

There is a gate on the south entrance to the lakes however I had never in 30 years seen it closed. I do believe that due to illegal dumping and vandalism in the area over the last several years they have started locking the southern entry in the off season. Entry should still be possible from the northern access. We have not been to Evergreen or Burke lake for several years now.
I'm sorry that you were unable to find a place to camp. You must have been in the wrong area? This area has many approved locations for camping around the lakes. The marker is also on public land. Here are some maps to illustrate.

You now need Washington's Discover pass to park here. $10 for 1 day, $30 for year. It can be used at all the state parks and other places requiring a Discover pass
Whether you just need to know where to camp nearby or you want to plan a free camping road trip, we've got you covered. You can simply use your smart phone's GPS to find camping near you or even use our trip planner to plan your route from coast to coast.
Our community provides the best free camping information available. Free campgrounds can be hard to find. Freecampsites.net makes it easy. We give you a simple, map based search engine to find free and cheap camping areas. Community reviews and ratings provide you with up to date information and help you select the best camp site for your next camping trip.
This is a platform for sharing campgrounds and camp sites you have discovered. We are community driven, and while we will be adding many free camping spots, we hope that you will add some of your favorite camping places as well. By sharing camping information freely, we can all spend less time researching campgrounds, spend less money, and more time camping. If everyone contributes a few campsites, we'll all have more places to go camping.
Please come back and let us know what you find! User reviews help other campers decide on their next camping destination. The more information you have, the more informed your decisions.
Whether you enjoy tent camping, car camping or RV camping, our goal is to help you find the best places to go camping. We believe that free camping areas are often the most beautiful and peaceful camp sites. Our focus is on public lands. You own these lands and you are entitled to use them. We especially like camping on Forest Service land, BLM (Bureau of Land Management) areas, WMA's (Wildlife Management Areas) and county or city parks. We hope you enjoy the same style of camping.
We are not actively seeking Wal-Marts, truckstops or other parking lots and will not be adding very many of these. There are enough Wal-Mart and truck stop directories out there already. However, if a member of the community finds one of these locations to be useful for overnight RV parking and creates an entry, we may approve the listing.
No access due to vandalism
No access, gate closed, sign says closed due to vandalism. Could dry camp in parking lot, but it had ruts from doughnuts burnouts.
Stayed here in a 20 foot-long Trailer (RV). Bill Ziegler would not stay here again.
