The GPS coordinates take you to campsite, It will be on your right. If you come up to the boat launch, you've passed the campsite. It says only 3 primitive campsites but more can fit there. Download the app Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries and check in on the app, FOR FREE. Great spots other than when the sun goes down, the mosquitoes came out in hoards till about 10pm. There is a water spicket behind the bathrooms- drinkable! Great sun exposure if you're solar.
Stayed here in a Skoolie (RV). Meg would stay here again.
We stayed there for 1 night in a tent 10/03/20. The grass was recently cut and the place was clean. Quiet place, no problems other than mosquitos. (we expected that and were prepared) Bath rooms are across the levee and not at the campground site. There is 1 water faucet on site, we made coffee with it but otherwise brought our own water for drinking. This is a nice stop-off for a night or two.
Stayed here with a passenger vehicle and a tent. Bayoucamper would stay here again.
We spent the night at the camp ground near the boat landing. It was clean, the grass was recently cut and we had a good time. And it was free!

Great spot for the evening! Picknick tables and water. Note: GPS coordinates will take you to the boat ramp/parking lot/ permit station. Camp site is just across the levee on Parish road 123.
Stayed here in a 19 foot-long Class B (RV). James J Fleming would stay here again.
Very quiet night! Free permit now available online at camp area. A few miles from town but feels like you’re In the boonies. Flat & lots of room! To get to boat ramp, trash bins, & flush toilets, drive a little further & veer right, up & over the levee hill.

Other than the mosquitoes at dusk, this was a good place to stay. Although the camping area is before the boat launch, the WMA permit forms to fill out are at the boat launch. Permits are free. There was a water spigot in the camping area. We did not use it so no comment on quality. We were the only ones there so it was a very quiet night.
Stayed here in a 30 foot-long Truck Camper (RV). seatsale would stay here again.

There is a camp site with picnic tables right before the boat launching point /millet point . At the boat launching boat are restrooms.
Nice grass area , good for tents , I guess you can park rvs there too. Permit needed, you can get them at a box a boat launch.
Many Mosquitos

Gravel parking site Millet Point, with toilet and running water, no picnic tables. During the day activities through motor boat visitors going out to the river and returning. At night, completely silent, whole place illuminated. Ideal for RVs, less for tents.

I think this place is meant more for RVs but we tent camped on the little strip of grass between the gravel and boardwalk. There is a bridge nearby that is extremely loud when cars pass in the night. But don't worry, you won't even hear that over the ground-shaking hum of freighters passing in the night. But don't worry, you won't hear that either over the torrential downpour that makes you fear your tent will rip in half. Maybe we got unlucky but it's laughable now. The area is nice, saw quite a few waterbirds there. No hard feelings.

Our community provides the best free camping information available. Free campgrounds can be hard to find. Freecampsites.net makes it easy. We give you a simple, map based search engine to find free and cheap camping areas. Community reviews and ratings provide you with up to date information and help you select the best camp site for your next camping trip.
This is a platform for sharing campgrounds and camp sites you have discovered. We are community driven, and while we will be adding many free camping spots, we hope that you will add some of your favorite camping places as well. By sharing camping information freely, we can all spend less time researching campgrounds, spend less money, and more time camping. If everyone contributes a few campsites, we'll all have more places to go camping.
Please come back and let us know what you find! User reviews help other campers decide on their next camping destination. The more information you have, the more informed your decisions.
Whether you enjoy tent camping, car camping or RV camping, our goal is to help you find the best places to go camping. We believe that free camping areas are often the most beautiful and peaceful camp sites. Our focus is on public lands. You own these lands and you are entitled to use them. We especially like camping on Forest Service land, BLM (Bureau of Land Management) areas, WMA's (Wildlife Management Areas) and county or city parks. We hope you enjoy the same style of camping.
We are not actively seeking Wal-Marts, truckstops or other parking lots and will not be adding very many of these. There are enough Wal-Mart and truck stop directories out there already. However, if a member of the community finds one of these locations to be useful for overnight RV parking and creates an entry, we may approve the listing.
