Free, BLM camping north of Yuma. A patch of mostly level open space.
Nice ATT 4G singal.

Not much here

Simple gravel lot. Strong cell service given elevation and clear view of Yuma's developed area's. Not much else. Perfect stop if you're driving through, not a great place to stay otherwise.
SugarRush would not stay here again.

We liked this spot. It was pretty quiet in January. You're camping on some of what they pulled out to make the tunnel for the canal that flows quietly nearby. Some ATVs passed through but they were pretty sporadic. Watching the crops dusters and migrant workers arriving by the school busload was interesting. Makes you think about where your food comes from. Nice access across the canal to the Sugarloaf mountain bike trails, which are steep, loose and lovely.

Great spot, amazing night skies, crop dusters at night fun to watch

Stayed here the first 2 weeks of Jan 2019. It's pretty much like everyone else said but I would like to mention a few things. No boost Verizon signal drifts around. Sometimes 3 bars of talk, sometimes dropping the call. 4g at times then it drops off or goes to 3g so if you need solid internet, this may not be the place for you. There are multiple tiers or plateaus. We felt comfortable taking our 26 foot trailer to the second one although we did see a class A motorhome on the third tier. Antenna tv got quite a few channels, no boost, but only 3 or 4 were in English. Gas and propane wasn't far away. Neither is Mexico where i got a great deal on new glasses. Yuma, 15 miles away, has everything you'll need. Coyotes are plentiful so keep your dog close if you have one. Also beware of nails and glass near old and current fire rings. We picked up a Wal-Mart bag 3/4 full of nails, glass, etc before we parked our trailer. All in all a great place to stay although I'm giving it 4 stars due to the internet and phone connections which are important to us.

Roomy area, plenty of space

Our favorite free campsite yet. There is so much space. You'll see in the picture I've circled multiple campers. The one in the far front left is mine, then up from there on another plateau is a 5th wheel, then further away to the right quite a few rv's. There's another great spot further in from where I am to the right, but it's down a hill. Great spot if it's windy. You'd be best to walk around and look first to make sure your vehicle will be ok. We had no issue getting to ours with a Ford Flex 6 cylinder and a 19foot trailer. Spent 2 nights here. No issue unhooking trailer to go into town or running the generator.
Google maps tip - be aware if you put in mentioned coordinates google maps gives you a few options (If coming from Yuma/8 headed north) - if your option says to turn into a dirt road in the middle of farm land pick a different option. There's another road further north that's a real road turning east. It's not a huge deal to take the road within the field, you will still get to your destination, but it may freak you or your driver out!
We went to scout the Mittry lakes location and are happy with our decision to stay at Kool Corner instead. Kool Corner is less busy with easier access and is closer to town. If we had a boat or enjoyed fishing we would have probably preferred the Mittrey lake location.

Not a super nice view but quiet and perfect for ovenight
There's a No Trespassing sign at the beggining of the trail but after there's indication for RV's so it should be fine.
A little bit far from road so we were'nt sure at the beggining but follow the dirt road and there's plenty of space at the end (enough to turn and park)
Other campers where there when we arrived
Fire pit available
Really quiet

Not petty but it's free

It's not pretty but it's free. I can hear what sounds like constant road noise (daytime) but could be the ranch / farm workers ... not much else out there so hopefully it will be quiet at night.
The drive out is paved but pretty rough in spots. When you leave the pavement it is a one lane road and bridge ... look before you go too far to make sure you won't have to back up as pulling off the road to pass would be very dicey. Good T-Mobile cell service.
Stayed here in a Class B (RV). Gulf Coast Nomad would stay here again.

Desert setting with easy access.

Camped here again 2016/01. Things were just the same except this time I explored the 4x4 trails. There are a few of them and they are quite fun. There is takes you around the back way to Lake Mittry. Great ATT and Verizon data signals.

We almost didn't venture off the paved road because there was a warn no trespassing sign and a trailer parked near the entrance. We decided to have a look we're very glad we did. The site has 4 or 5 fire pits and was completely empty. Only sounds you can hear are the crickets, irrigation nearby and an occasional passing car. There wasn't much in the way of scenery except for farm land, but it had a very nice sunset. Was warm at night and very few bugs.

We stopped here for two nights in January 24&25 2014. It is 7 miles from Hwy 95 out in the middle of farm fields. Very quiet at night. Some ATV activity but no noise. No shade but that's fine in the winter. We'd of stayed longer but had to move on...and we'd stay again.

Whether you just need to know where to camp nearby or you want to plan a free camping road trip, we've got you covered. You can simply use your smart phone's GPS to find camping near you or even use our trip planner to plan your route from coast to coast.
Our community provides the best free camping information available. Free campgrounds can be hard to find. Freecampsites.net makes it easy. We give you a simple, map based search engine to find free and cheap camping areas. Community reviews and ratings provide you with up to date information and help you select the best camp site for your next camping trip.
This is a platform for sharing campgrounds and camp sites you have discovered. We are community driven, and while we will be adding many free camping spots, we hope that you will add some of your favorite camping places as well. By sharing camping information freely, we can all spend less time researching campgrounds, spend less money, and more time camping. If everyone contributes a few campsites, we'll all have more places to go camping.
Please come back and let us know what you find! User reviews help other campers decide on their next camping destination. The more information you have, the more informed your decisions.Whether you enjoy tent camping, car camping or RV camping, our goal is to help you find the best places to go camping. We believe that free camping areas are often the most beautiful and peaceful camp sites. Our focus is on public lands. You own these lands and you are entitled to use them. We especially like camping on Forest Service land, BLM (Bureau of Land Management) areas, WMA's (Wildlife Management Areas) and county or city parks. We hope you enjoy the same style of camping.
We are not actively seeking Wal-Marts, truckstops or other parking lots and will not be adding very many of these. There are enough Wal-Mart and truck stop directories out there already. However, if a member of the community finds one of these locations to be useful for overnight RV parking and creates an entry, we may approve the listing.

Open, but bumpy
A bit uneven, looks like it has been flooded, leaving large grooves from tires throughout. Verizon is not great. It's not bad for a day or 2.
We have a 41' 5th wheel, so navigating was a little difficult, but manageable.
Stayed here in a 41 foot-long Fifth Wheel (RV). Runawayrinaldis would stay here again.
