Freecampsites.net is the primary source for information on free campgrounds and boondocking locations. We believe that free camping sites are often the most beautiful and peaceful camp sites. There are many free camp sites, but they can be difficult to locate. Here, we provide a simple, map-based search engine for free and cheap camping locations. It is also a platform for sharing locations you have discovered with others.

We hope that this site will help others who are on the road and looking for free campsites or free campgrounds. We are community driven and, while we will be adding many free camping sites, we hope that the users who find the site useful will add some of their favorite camping places as well.
Wild Campsites
The main focus of the site will be public lands. We especially like camping on Forest Service land, BLM (Bureau of Land Management) areas, WMA’s (Wildlife Management Areas) and county or city parks. Hopefully, you enjoy the same style of camping. If everyone contributes a few campsites, we’ll all have much more to choose from. More know campsites helps prevent overcrowding and over use.
Free Camping For Everyone
All campsites on this website should be free or $12/night or less for everyone. We also list campsites that require a long term, inexpensive pass, ie. $25 for up to 14 days. No camping location listed here should require you to be of a certain age, occupation, or a member of a group. If there is a fee that matches our criteria, that fee is the same for everyone.
Overnight Parking
We are not actively seeking Wal-Marts, truckstops and other parking lots and will not be adding very many of these; there are enough Wal-Mart and truck stop directories out there already. However, if a user finds one of these locations to be useful and submits a retail parking lot, we may approve the post as a member of the community has taken the time to create the entry.
