Place was clean. Everyone was respectful and responsible. Free to camp w discoverpass. I'd come back. P.s bring wood. You won't find any lying around.

Stayed here with a passenger vehicle and a tent. Ron Stevens would stay here again.

I organize a Jeep Meetup Group and we did a run and camping earlier this month. We love this place!! In fact, we have discussed making this a regular place for our group.

Some of the information in this listing is incorrect. I spoke with a State Ranger and they NO LONGER take reservations for any days of the year at Camp Spillman. The campground is open 7-days a week, with season closings in the winter.

There are 10 campsites, with some being larger and able to accommodate RVs and multiple tents. Others are small and can only accommodate 2 or 3 tents. There are NO RV HOOKUPS, no running water, and no garbage service.

There is a creek that runs along the campground. There is also a built-in amphitheater with a large fire ring.

Washington Discover Pass is REQUIRED and Rangers do patrol.

If you are a 4x4'er, they do have restrictions on wheel width. Jeep Wranglers and Cherokees are great, I'd imagine that smaller Toyotas and the like would be fine too. However, large trucks will not fit on most trails.

Trails are very well marked and maintained. Most water/mud holes are great fun and minimal risk of getting stuck in the mud, because they have gravel bottoms.

Here is a link to the trail map on nwjeepn.com:

I highly recommend Tahuya for offroading beginners.

Due to vandalisim in this area all the campgrounds located in the Tahuya State Forest now require a combination for the numerous locks located on the gates to get in. Very rarely are any of the formal campgrounds open. There are places to pull out and dry camp but they are staging areas for the ATVrs and motorcyclers that come here and it can be quite noise. We have also found that camp Spillman is usually very very trashed with the interior roads rough and ripped up by the off-roaders and garbage all over the place. We would not recomend it as a good place to camp.
